10 Galaxy S6 Edge and Galaxy S6 useful Tips and Tricks You might have missed

Here are my top 10 picks on Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge and Galaxy S6 tips and tricks that you might wanna know about.  Noting that the Galaxy S6 Edge has more to offer compared to the Galaxy S6 but technically more or less both devices are bearing the same features. Whilst some carrier branded Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge and Galaxy S6 variants got their own pre-installed bloatwares.

I did not include navigating the default apps here, as I found it odd and you can easily find it in the Galaxy S6 Edge and Galaxy S6 user manual.  So I only selected some useful tips and tricks that might be useful to others, or maybe not.  I guess!  So just read on and check my list if there is something you might have missed.

1. Camera quick launch

Double tap home button to launch the camera in under one second. Enable the double-tap quick launch in the camera options

2. Quick Home button

When the double tap double-tap quick launch in the camera option is enable it causes small delay to the Home button. But if you want to get rid of it and you like to have a much more quicker home button then disable it. Disable the double-tap quick launch in the camera options.

3. Emergency Reboot

Very useful if your Galaxy S6 Edge and Galaxy S6 is frozen and unresponsive. A  situation where it suddenly hang-up  and isn't responding  at all.  To do this just reboot the device by pressing and holding the Power key and the Volume key  simultaneously for more than 7 seconds to restart it.

4. Battery fast charging

One thing the Galaxy S6 Edge and Galaxy S6 have is the fast charging features  but you cannot use the fast charging feature whilst the screen is turned on.  There is some sort of smart switch that detects the device when the screen in on.   The basic logic here is that whilst the screen is turned on it consumed more Battery power as it generates heat and so the charging drastically slows down.  You must turn off the screen to increase the charging speed.

5. Easy way to take Selfie

Take a in single-portraits "selfie"  mode or a "wide-selfie" for group photos. It's easy now on Galaxy S6 Edge and Galaxy S6,  just  simply frame the image first, and then put your finger on the heart rate sensor under the LED light at the back.

6. Tracking AF

The Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge is equipped Tracking AF function in the camera.  It sets the camera to track then automatically focus on a selected subject, it will track and lock the subject even if it's moving.  Try it now! Go into the camera apps' Settings menu and Enable Tracking AF.

7. Customize Icon grids

On Galaxy S6 Edge and Galaxy S6 Galaxy S6 you can pinch the home screen icon grids to your liking. You can now customize the look of your home screen icons by choosing the screen grid in 4x4, 4x5 or 5x5 to show in a row.

8. Enable Private Mode

This function allows users to hide a content from prying eyes, just unless someone do not want to exposed some of their private  photos, videos, music, web history, and such.

Go to Settings--->Privacy and safety--->Private mode.

9. Do Not Disturb mode

Allows the user to choose who is and isn't allowed to contact her/him while it's on.  This is featured on Lollipop OS update found on other Galaxy devices and it's called the  "priority notification only" mode before.

10.  Boost Speed

You can make your device with extra speed and bit faster by minimizing the animation scale. To adjust it,  go to Developer Options and setting window animation scale, transition animation scale & animator duration scale all to 0.5.

11. Galaxy S6 Galaxy S6 Edge: Performing Full Wipe Factory Data Reset in Recovery Mode

Unlike the regular factory reset in the settings, which technically reset your device. This function allows you to perform a full wipe and restore the original default settings of your Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge. But you must create a back-up  to all of the important files you have before doing so, as the process will delete all of the stored data from the device.

Here's how to do it:
While the device is turned off; Press and hold the Power key, Volume Down key, and Home key at the same time.  Then wait until the screen went black and shakes then let go off the keys when it show's you the recovery mode screen.  While in the recovery screen; using the volume keys, scroll down to where it says "Wipe data/Factory  reset" then select it. Wait until the device reboots.
