Android 6.0 Marshmallow Beta Update for Galaxy S6 & S6 Edge Now Rolling Out to UK's Participants

Those who have had participated the Galaxy Beta Program that has recently launched in UK's Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge owners has just started receiving the said Android 6.0 Marshmallow beta update. The update is officially launched via Over-The-Air and it came out with build number MRA58K.G920FXXU3ZOL6 for the Galaxy S6 (SM-G920F), whilst the Galaxy S6 edge (SM-G925F) has got the build number MRA58K.G925FXXU3ZOL6.

According to the initial changelog details of the Android 6.0 beta, it is said the new the Touchwiz provides enhanced usability, and an updated visual design. It has also mentioned the Quick Connect feature that will now easily finds and connect to nearby devices and previous connections. The Fingerprints are also added with more security protection, an alternative unlocked method of pattern, PIN, or password is now required to add fingerprints. Moreover, the Advanced Power Saving mode now restricts background data to extend battery life performance.

In addition,  it also advised that some apps like the Samsung Gear app is needed to be uninstalled and reinstalled as it may not work after the update. While on the other hand,  any other app that has also been installed via Android 5.1.1 Lollipop OS may need to be updated via Google Play Store right after upgrading to Android 6.0 Marshmallow.

Samsung UK is Inviting Beta Testers for Galaxy S6 & S6 Edge Android 6.0 Marshmallow Update

It seems like the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update for the Galaxy S6 and S6 edge would not come into a surprise manner via Over-The-Air update, as Samsung UK has just announced that they are looking for some few beta testers to get the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update before anybody else. In fact, this program is also recently launched in South Korea.  Samsung Mobile UK is inviting anyone to participate the said program and will then be able to have the privilege to download the first Android 6.0 Marshmallow beta update on their Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge in no time before the whole world may know it.

This invitation is now available for those who resides in UK and owns the unlocked Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge with model number SM-G920F and SM-G925F.  Phones that are still running the UK's latest Android 5.1.1 firmware build G920FXXU3COI9  and G925FXXU3COI9  (with BTU CSC code) will be able to join the program. While  those Galaxy S6 and S6 edge phones that were locked to networks are not available at the moment.

According to Samsung Mobile UK, those who are interested to participate the Galaxy Beta Program, they only require to create a Samsung account and then install the Galaxy Care app from the Samsung Apps Store. Once the Galaxy Care app is installed, users will then be able to register to the said beta testing program using their Samsung account. Now, the last thing they need to do is to wait for the update to arrive  and be among the the first one to experience the Android 6.0 Marshmallow running on their Galaxy S6 and S6 edge before the rest of the world could see it.

Here's the step by step guide on how to join the Galaxy S6 and S6 Android 6.0 Marshmallow beta program:
  1.  Create a Samsung Account from here -  https://account.samsung.com/account/signUp.do
  2. a) Download the Galaxy Care App at Samsung Galaxy Apps - http://www.samsung.com/uk/apps/mobile/galaxyapps/)
    b) or download the Galaxy Care APK via Google Drive and manually install it into your phone.  Once downloaded all you need is simply open the file and install it manually in your device. But first you must enable the "Unknown sources" option to which can be found in Settings > Lockscreen and security so you can manually install the APK.
  3. Open the app > Wait for the banners to load > Scroll through the options > Hit 'Join'.
  4. Wait until the said beta Android 6.0 Marshmallow starts to roll out.

T-Mobile Galaxy S6 edge OTA G925TUVS3DOJC, Android OS Security Updates Not the Marshmallow Yet

T-Mobile has just released another OTA update on Samsung Galaxy S6 edge (SM-G925T). The said update is dubbed with build number G925TUVS3DOJC, but it is still base in Android 5.1.1 Lollipop and not Android 6.0 Marshmallow update to which reportedly coming within this month. According to Samsung's announcement, this update is said to bring the Android OS Security updates to which an address of the recent Android  OS vulnerabilities.  This is the same security patch for the  month of December that has just also released on the regular T-Mobile Galaxy S6 (SM-G920T)

Updating the Galaxy S6 edge via Over-The-Air (OTA)


This is the usual method on how to check and to perform an update on Galaxy S6 edge  to the latest software version.  This method is what we called Firmware Update  Over-The-Air and so-called as FOTA or simply OTA update. Try downloading software updates using Smart Switch on your computer or visit a customer service center.”  This is a warning message that only appears for those devices that have been rooted and installed with modified and unofficial firmware.  So to be able to get the Software OTA update again, you must Unroot the Galaxy S6 edge first, and or removed any modification that has been installed in it.

T-Mobile Galaxy S6 (SM-G920T) has gotten another update to build G920TUVS3DOJC. This update is not the much awaited Android 6.0 Marshmallow update but it's still base in Android 5.1.1 Lollipop.  According to Samsung, the said update build  G920TUVS3DOJC brings nothing more but the Android OS Security Updates, and you may not see any differences from the previous released build G920TUVU3DOJ7.  Once the update has made, you may only notice that the security patch level is set for the month of December in the device software info.  In addition, this update be a preparation before the Android 6.0 Marshmallow's arrival to which reportedly coming within this month.

Sprint has released an update on Samsung Galaxy S6 (SM-G920P) and  Galaxy S6 Edge (SM-G925V). The released is said to be a security updates, which related to and an address to the recent Android OS vulnerability. There is no any major adverse effect nor any noticeable changes this update may bring.
