Telus, Bell, Rogers Galaxy S6, S6 edge and S6 edge+ Receiving July 2017 Security Updates

Way back in April, Galaxy S6, S6 edge and S6 edge+ has gotten its Android 7.0 Nougat updates.  Two months after, another Nougat update had been released that brings the June 2017 Android security patches. This time around, Canadian carriers are also started pushing another security updates for the month of July 2017.  Again, these updates brings nothing any new features to the earlier Android 7.0 Nougat, but it only applies the latest Android Security Maintenance Release (SMR).

Among all major Canadian carriers such as Telus, Bell, and Rogers, has started the rolling out of the said July 2017 security  updates. While the rest of all Canadian mobile network providers, including the factory unlocked version will also get the same treatment anytime soon.

In addition, this is now the 3rd Android 7.0 Nougat update landed on Canada's Galaxy S6, S6 edge and S6 edge+ variants.  So you must update your device from time to time to get a new doze of Nougat's Android security updates, to keep your data in safe place.

These updates were officially released by all Canadian carriers such as  Telus, Bell, Rogers, Koodo, Fido, Freedom, Virgin-Mobile, Videotron, Eastlink, Sasktel, and not to forget including the factory unlocked version.

So if it happens that you’ve got a Galaxy S6 or a S6 edge and S6 edge+, no matter which carrier you are at, you can manually check for a software update by going into Settings > About device> Check for an Update.
