Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow Firmware for Galaxy S6 Edge+ SM-G928F (Europe version)

Here we have gathered the officia Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow firmware for the Galaxy S6 Edge+ SM-G928F.  All of these firmware build were officially released by Samsung.  The stock firmware itself are very useful if one need to unroot and or remove any modification within the Galaxy S6 Edge+  operating system.  Noting that a rooted and a modified phone will no longer receives any official software update, and the way to obtain official updates is by restoring it back to its official firmware.

Please refer to our safety guidelines: How to safely unroot the Galaxy S6 edge+

Furthermore, the stock firmware has been also useful for fixing issues if you have just messed-up from any modification attempts such as rooting, installing custom and modified ROM images. Some problems like bootloops, the phone keeps on rebooting and or it just stuck at the welcome screen logo.  Installing back the right combination of stock firmware will also fix those problems and your Galaxy S6 Edge+ will return to its factory default settings.  The stock firmware is technically your phone’s OEM, so if something might went wrong you can easily fix it by means of flashing the original firmware.

Important Note: Always use the correct combination of stock firmware package according to your device model number (Galaxy S6 Edge SM-G925I), your phone’s country of origin as well as the mobile network provider.

FAQ’s on Galaxy S6 Edge+ Stock Firmware:

How to Safely Use Galaxy S6 Edge+ Stock Firmware?

Advanced users and after-market developers always have had a stock firmware for backup purposes.  On the advanced users side, thus who loves to tinker their devices they need it if they are about to restore their phone to its factory default state.  Android is an Open Source Project (AOSP), some after-market developers are also free to use the stock firmware as their base for customization purposes, such as changing the look and  feel of the stock and adding a but more tweaks and stuff in it.

What are these Galaxy S6 Edge+  Stock Firmware is capable to?

  1. Remove Root and Unroot the Galaxy S6 Edge+.
You can only use the stock firmware if and when you have had a rooted Galaxy S6 edge+  and wanted to fully unroot it. Sometimes rooting may cause some adverse effect to the device.  So if we’ve noticed that there is something went wrong after rooting,  and then we want to fully removed the root that already stick and overrides the original firmware.  So the stock firmware can do the thing to  restore our Galaxy S6 Edge+ to its original state.
  2. Fix a Soft-bricked  Galaxy S6 Edge+.To root and modify our Galaxy S6 is fun indeed. But when times comes that we have messed-up from modification and ended-up our precious devices into bootloops (keeps restarting),  stuck at Samsung logo welcome screen. Only then we are going to need the stock firmware so we can fix phone out of our own. The service center will not cover or render the warranty of the phone if they finds out that it was the result of our own negligence.
  3. Revert back the Galaxy S6 Edge+ to Stock from Custom.
The stock firmware is capable to restore the Galaxy S6 to stock official firmware, from any custom ROM we have installed.
  4. Manually Upgrade the Galaxy S6 Edge+ – One of your last resort to get the newest software update when the time comes that OTA update and even Kies update has blocked your Galaxy S6 Edge when it finds out that your device has been modified and rooted.
  5. Dump any individual system files, an after market developers method
Pull out individual system images such as Kernel, Boot image, Stock Recovery, CSC image, Modem, Radio Interface Layer (RIL) etc.

Which particular thing the stock firmware cannot do?

  1. Can it be used for unlocking the Galaxy S6 Edge+?
The stock firmware cannot unlock a carrier-locked Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+ from a certain network providers. If one might have thought that installing an unbranded stock firmware on top on carrier branded Galaxy S6 Edge+ will unlock the device so then they will be able to use it to other network providers SIM-cards. No, it will not unlock the Galaxy S6 Edge+.  It will just remove the branding of the phone, as it only changes the carrier logo,  default apps and ringtones but the phone stays locked to a certain mobile network operator.
  2. Can it be use to reset the KNOX Warranty Void?

If our Galaxy S6 Edge+ has been rooted, or otherwise runs in custom recovery and any unofficial system images which weren’t officially built by Samsung, this will trip the KNOX warranty flag counter.  Once the KNOX is tripped it is irreversible by any means, so the stock firmware cannot fix it.
Edit
