T-Mobile Galaxy S6 & S6 edge Getting Android 7.0 Nougat Upgrades

T-Mobile has finally begun rolling out the Android 7.0 Nougat updates to their Galaxy S6 (SM-G920T) and the Galaxy S6 edge (SM-G925T) variants. Way back in April, T-Mobile have been pushed the Android 7.0 Nougat on Galaxy S6 edge+, now it's for the Galaxy S6 and S6 edge models turn to get the same treatment. What's taking them too long to unleash the said updates may have some reasons. But it may have been late than never, the waiting is finally over.

May 1 2017 Android Security Updates Released on Verizon Galaxy S6, S6edge and S6 edge+

Verizon is sending out an OTA updates containing the May 1, 2017 Android Security Patch Level for the Galaxy S6, Galaxy S6 edge, and the Galaxy S6 edge+ .  These are now the second Android 7.0 Nougat being rolled out on the said devices.

The Verizon Galaxy S6 (SM-G920V) has moved its Nougat OS to version NRD90M.G920VVRS4DQE1 from NRD90M.G920VVRS4DQD1 . Similarly happened to the Galaxy S6 edge that also bumped to version NRD90M.G925VVRS4DQE1 from NRD90M.G925VVRS4DQD1. While Galaxy S6 edge+ (SM-G928V) on the other hand, had also jumped up to version NRD90M.G928VVRS3CQE1 from NRD90M.G928VVRS3CQD1.

Android 7.0 Nougat Update Hitting Galaxy S6 G920I and S6 edge G925I in Australia

The Android 7.0 Nougat update has started rolling out on Galaxy S6 (SM-G920I) and Galaxy S6 edge (SM-G925I) in Australia.  First on the spot getting the Nougat upgrade are Vodafone, and the factory unlocked version of the Galaxy S6 and S6 edge.  While Optus might also follow shortly confirming the release will also start on mid to late May.  However, Telstra hasn't made any announcement yet, but it shouldn't take too long for all  Galaxy S6 and S6 edge owners in Australia seeing the said Android Nougat updates.

AT&T has finally started the roll out of the official Android 7.0 Nougat updates for the Galaxy S6 (SM-G920A), Galaxy S6 edge (SM-G925A), and the Galaxy S6 Active (SM-G890A). Noting that AT&T's Galaxy S6 edge+ (SM-G928A) Nougat update have been deployed earlier last month, while leaving these three variants waiting for the same treatment. So this is it! The long-wait is finally over.

Verizon Galaxy S6 and S6 edge Android 7.0 Nougat Updates [G920VVRS4DQD1 & G925VVRS4DQD1]

A week earlier Verizon has rolled out the Android 7.0 Nougat update on Galaxy S6 edge+ (SM-G928V), this time around it has also begun sending out the said Nougat updates on Galaxy S6 (SM-G920V) and the Galaxy S6 edge (SM-G925V).

The Galaxy S6 bumped-up to Android 7.0 Nougat build version NRD90M.G920VVRS4DQD1 from Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow MMB29K.G920VVRS4CQA3 . While the Galaxy S6 edge on the other hand, also moved to Nougat version NRD90M.G925VVRS4DQD1 from Marshmallow version MMB29K.G920VVRS4CQA3.

The Android 7.0 Nougat basically brings some new stuff, including the  new battery managements that allows users to optimize the battery life performance. The Android 7.0 Nougat Multi-tasking function now also supports split screen view for all apps, and the updated keyboard with built-in language predictions.

If it just keeps saying like "Service unavailable software update is temporarily unavailable. Try again later" then you must wait until the OTA server is not overly saturated.

Galaxy S6 edge+ SM-G928W8 Android 7.0 Nougat Updates G928W8VLU4CQC8 Has Landed in Canada

The rolling out of the Android 7.0 Nougat updates has finally reached in Canada's Galaxy S6 edge+ SM-G928W8 variant. Few days earlier, Telus and Bell has made the first moved to unleashed the said Android 7.0 Nougat update,. While this time around, we've also seen Rogers and among the rest of all Canadian carriers has also started rolling out their own updates. For the record, the first Android 7.0 Nougat update for Galaxy S6 edge+ SM-G928W8 came out as version G928W8VLU4CQC8. Verizon Deploys Galaxy S6 edge+ Android 7.0 Nougat Updates G928VVRU3CQB9

Verizon has officially started its deployment of the Android 7.0 Nougat update on Galaxy S6 edge+ (SM-G928V).  If you haven't checked it out yet, an OTA update dubbed as build version NRD90M.G928VVRU3CQB9  is heading on its way on your devices. It seem like big red has followed the same pattern to  Sprint  and AT&T, of which these carriers now in favor on the Galaxy S6 edge+ only.

Anyways, for whatever reasons, it turns out that all US Galaxy S6 and S6 edge will get its Nougat updates on a later time. While T-Mobile has a different story, neither their Galaxy S6, S6 edge and S6 edge+ hasn't received any Nougat update yet as of this moment.

AT&T Galaxy S6 edge+ Android 7.0 Nougat Updates Officially Released [G928AUCU4EQC6]

AT&T has started rolling out the official Android 7.0 Nougat update on Samsung Galaxy S6 edge+ SM-G928P, earlier today. For the record, the first Android Nougat update comes as version G928AUCU4EQC6 and weighs at  1.51 GB. The Android 7.0 Nougat includes new stuff like split-screen apps, quick settings customization, and various performance enhancement. Along with all the Android 7.0 Nougat goodies, it is also includes the March 1, 2017 Android security patch level.

In addition, it seems like only the Galaxy S6 edge+ were the first in line to get a doze of the Nougat treatment. Sprint Galaxy S6 edge+ SM-G928P Android 7.0 Nougat Update G928PVPU3DQC5

Sprint has finally pushed the Galaxy S6 edge+ SM-G928P official Android 7.0 Nougat updates, to which came out as build version  G928PVPU3DQC5. However, Sprint support page hasn't showed any announcement yet, it could be updated soon. But OTA update itself is now officially released to the public so there is nothing to worry things about.

Meanwhile, those who owns the Sprint Galaxy S6 SM-G920P and Galaxy S6 edge SM-G925P your Android 7.0 Nougat updates hasn't surfaced yet, and there are no words about it so far. But it might arrive at a time right after the Galaxy S8 and S8+ launch this month.

So those who owns the Galaxy S6 edge+ SM-G928P, you folks may better check this Nougat update availability.  Again, it isn't fully rolled out yet as it's still under in phase released.

The roll out already begun since April 4, 2017, but it is still in stages. You may just check the update manually if you haven't received the notification message yet.

Here’s how to do it:
  • From your S6 edge+ Home screen tap on Apps.
  • Select the Settings gear icon.
  • Tap About device.
  • Tap Software update.
  • Tap Check for an update.

It will then notifies you that a new update is available for download. But it also says that “Your device software is up to date“, and there is no software update is yet available for grab. You can simply choose Install now if you do so or else Install later if you want to get the update in later time.

AT&T Galaxy S6, S6 edge and S6 edge+ Android 7.0 Nougat Updates Ready for Release

If you owned a AT&T Galaxy S6 (SM-G920A), or a Galaxy S7 edge (SM-G925A) and a Galaxy S6 edge+ (SM-G928A) have been waiting for the Android 7.0 Nougat updates to roll out. Well, it looks like AT&T has finally prepares the said Nougat updates for their devices. In-fact, two Android 7.0 Nougat firmware version have been spotted recently in their public  firmware  server.  The first one was floating out there since early February, and the other one is also recently added later on this March.

The Android 7.0 Nougat firmware have been out there for a quite some time now, but it's not officially released yet so far. For whatever reasons it may have, or maybe those were just  a test-builds, it will definitely going out very soon. But to when the exact date really is are still blurry at this time being.

Anyways, here goes the Android 7.0 Nougat updates for the said devices. Again, this isn't rolled out yet,  but some folks already managed to install the said Nougat firmware on their devices.

The recent one caters the Android security patch level of February 1, 2015. But it hasn't released instead AT&T rolled out another Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow update to build version G920AUCU5DQB3 on Galaxy S6. While previous one that we saw earlier in February is also equipped with Android security patch level of January 1, 2017. This simply means that these firmware builds were running on constant changes.

Following the Galaxy S6 edge Android 7.0 Nougat updates, we also received some tips from our friends in Italy that their Galaxy S6 have received an update to Nougat. And guess what? It's also came from Vodafone carrier. So here we go again, it's not so surprising that the carrier branded Galaxy S6 now getting ahead of the game.
